The Role : Group Financial Controller This company is looking for a smart, autonomous, and hands‑on Group Financial Controller to join them at the headquarters in Luxembourg, working directly with the Group CFO.
This is not a reporting technician role — it’s a strategic and operational position that requires someone who can understand the business, anticipate what stakeholders need, and design and implement the tools and processes that will support performance, clarity, and growth.
You will be responsible for setting up the finance reporting function of the group, coordinating with both internal teams (including the accountant in Germany) and external partners, and producing accurate and relevant reporting for the investors, partners and business leads.
This is a unique opportunity to build something from scratch and become a cornerstone of a growing and ambitious group.
What You’ll Do Design and implement the group’s reporting infrastructure, from Excel models to structured dashboards, Produce monthly reporting packages for investors, partners and managers: P&L, cash flow, forecasts, and KPIs, Coordinate with the accounting functions in Luxembourg and Germany to ensure accurate and timely data, Develop business-focused analyses to support decision‑making: cost tracking, project profitability, resource allocation, etc., Translate business complexity into clear and actionable financial reporting, Act as a key contact for investors, the CFO, and operational teams — with an ability to understand and adapt to the expectations of each.
Profile : Group Financial Controller Experience
Open to different types of backgrounds, provided the person has strong exposure to financial analysis, reporting, and modelling:
4–6 years of experience in financial controlling, reporting, or financial analysis, ideally in a multi‑entity or fast‑paced environment, Or: former Big Four auditor (Assistant Manager level or higher) with strong exposure to commercial or service‑based companies, and a clear desire to move into a performance‑driven finance role, Or: experience as a financial analyst (e.g. in private equity, M&A, start‑up finance, or corporate development), with strong analytical and modelling skills and an appetite to build tools and processes from scratch, Prior exposure to international or service‑based environments is a strong plus.
Skills & Tools
Excellent command of Excel and comfort building financial models from scratch, Familiarity with accounting tools and reporting software (ERP, BI, dashboards), Languages: Fluent English required; French and/or German are a plus, Ability to work with raw accounting data and turn it into insightful reporting, Business‑minded: understands how to connect operations, strategy and finance, Able to structure, implement, and iterate — not just apply or replicate.
