Senior ICT Architect – Geotechnical Data & Real-Time Monitoring
Location: Belgium (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 1 July 2026 – 30 June 2027
Workload: Full-time (100%)
Remote Work: Flexible hybrid working arrangement
About the Role
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior ICT Architect to support the continued development and implementation of an advanced real-time monitoring platform used for large-scale infrastructure projects.
The platform captures, processes, stores, and visualizes geotechnical measurement data from a wide variety of sensors and technologies. This data plays a critical role in validating engineering assumptions, supporting geotechnical decision-making, and providing early warnings for potential issues during construction projects.
You will be responsible for designing and evolving the technical architecture behind this platform, ensuring reliable data acquisition, visualization, and integration with external systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and lead the architecture of a real-time geotechnical monitoring platform.
* Develop and optimize solutions for processing, storing, and visualizing large volumes of sensor data.
* Build and maintain REST services for data exchange with external platforms.
* Support the migration and implementation of new functional requirements and use cases.
* Design solutions for data ingestion through multiple technologies (sFTP, IoT networks, and other transfer methods).
* Create interactive dashboards and visualizations using JavaScript APIs.
* Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into scalable solutions.
* Provide architectural guidance and contribute to project planning and technical leadership.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Specialist or Enterprise Architect.
* At least 6 years of experience with App42.
* Minimum 10 years of experience with JavaScript and ECMAScript.
* Minimum 10 years of experience with SQL and SQLite.
* Strong knowledge of architectural modeling frameworks and techniques, including:
o ArchiMate
o TOGAF
o UML
o Sparx Enterprise Architect
* Fluent Dutch language skills (CEFR C2 level).
Preferred Experience
* Minimum 10 years of experience with AJAX.
* Minimum 10 years of experience with Google Chart Tools.
* Minimum 10 years of experience with jQuery, JSON, and Node.js.
* Knowledge of enterprise business processes and business engineering principles.
* Experience across project management disciplines, including planning, coordination, estimation, timing, and cost management.
* Broad architectural knowledge across infrastructure, application, security, data, and process domains.
Technical Environment
The platform is designed to handle high volumes of real-time geotechnical measurement data collected across major infrastructure projects. Data is received from multiple sensor technologies and communication methods and is processed for visualization, validation, reporting, and integration with external data repositories.
Key technologies include:
* JavaScript / ECMAScript
* SQL & SQLite
* REST APIs
* Google Charts & Mapping APIs
* jQuery, JSON, Node.js
* Progressive web applications
* IoT and sensor data integration
What You'll Bring
This role is ideal for an architect who combines deep technical expertise with an understanding of data-intensive engineering environments. Experience working with real-time monitoring systems, sensor integrations, and large-scale data visualization solutions will be highly valuable.
