About the role
In this global individual contributor role, you will support the design and implementation of innovative health equity business models, leveraging multi‑stakeholder partnerships and novel funding mechanisms. Reporting to the Head of Health Equity Impact, you will apply a strong lens of financial sustainability to systemic solutions, ensuring both financial performance and measurable societal impact. You will play a critical role in shaping new ways of working at the intersection of finance, entrepreneurship, and health equity, aligned with UCB’s corporate strategy.
Who you’ll work with
You will collaborate closely with Internal cross‑functional global and local stakeholders. Externally, you will engage with impact investors, foundations, authorities, community partners, and other innovative financial stakeholders across markets.
What will you do
1. Develop P&L and investment strategies for systemic solutions serving underserved groups
2. Assess financial impact at discovery, proof-of-concept, and scaling stages
3. Benchmark health equity funding and recommend stage-specific strategies
4. Manage relationships with impact investors and financial partners
5. Prepare pitches, business cases, and proposals for committee review
6. Conduct scouting, assess partners proposals, due diligence, negotiate partnerships, and support contract execution
7. Set financial and operational KPIs and monitoring systems for transparency and impact
8. Help design sustainable, scalable business models for Health Equity Impact Ventures
9. Uphold ethics, compliance, and integrity in all initiatives
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience, and skills:
10. Master’s degree (required)
11. Several years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industries, with at least 5 years in finance, business development, venture, or health equity roles across the US, Europe, Japan, or China
12. Several years of experiencing leading and influencing matrix teams
13. Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically and holistically
14. Proven expertise in scouting, pitching, negotiating, and managing external partnerships
15. Demonstrated leadership in driving innovative, multi‑stakeholder healthcare initiatives
16. Strong networking, influencing, and communication skills
17. High integrity and a trusted track record with internal and external stakeholders
