The role
We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our core Transaction Observability team in Mechelen. You'll work in a small, autonomous scrum team building the engine that ingests, indexes, and makes large volumes of transaction data searchable in real time.
This is hands-on backend engineering at scale. You'll design and build core features, optimise performance, and contribute to architectural decisions that directly impact global banks.

What you'll do
* Design and build high-performance backend components in Java
* Work on real-time ingestion and indexing of large-scale data
* Develop advanced search capabilities using Elasticsearch
* Improve performance, scalability, and reliability
* Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions
* Write clean, well-tested, production-ready code
What we're looking for
* Strong experience building backend systems in Java
* Solid understanding of software design and ability to own solutions end-to-end
* Experience working with scalable, high-throughput systems
* A product mindset — you think beyond the code
Nice to have
* Experience with Elasticsearch or Apache Lucene
* Background in fintech, regtech, or financial systems
* Experience working with real-time or high-volume data
