This role conducts research and analysis to assess Microsoft's security and resilience strategy, cyber risk management and mitigation processes as well as substance, identifying opportunities to develop new initiatives or enhance existing ones across Microsoft. The individual serves as a subject matter expert, defining success criteria, establishing performance metrics, and guiding best practices for program execution, communication, and stakeholder engagement. They oversee a portfolio of projects, managing timelines, milestones, budgets, and resources to ensure alignment with strategic business goals. Through close partnership with stakeholders, customers, and leadership, they drive adoption of key programs, influence decision-making, and promote alignment on organizational priorities. Leveraging deep technical and analytical expertise, they evaluate performance, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and assess overall program impact to inform future direction and investment. Cybersecurity Strategy Evaluation and Improvement • Conducts security and risk mitigation analyses and uses process and control reviews and analytics data to drive strategic decisions and identify areas for improvement. • Partners with leadership to advocate for and execute new security and process initiatives, applying change management principles to ensure adoption and alignment across teams. • Defines and tracks success metrics (e.g., ROI, SLAs, OKRs, KPIs), leveraging dashboards and analytics to evaluate performance, surface insights, and identify risks and opportunities. Security Program Excellence and Execution • Evangelizes key cybersecurity programs with stakeholders, partners, and customers to drive buy-in and engagement. • Uses data and performance metrics to demonstrate program value through effective storytelling and communication tailored to the audience, both technical and strategic. • Leads planning and communication efforts, ensuring execution aligns with Microsoft's security principles and rhythm of business (ROB) cadence. • Collaborates across cross-functional teams (CISO Org, CELA, MCAPS, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, audit, enterprise risk, etc.) to ensure security program requirements are understood and met. • Supports the coordination and interaction with EU cyber security regulators and the Microsoft Ireland's Board Business Program Management • Oversees a portfolio of projects, managing plans, milestones, budgets, resources, and performance metrics to deliver on strategic goals. • Communicates program status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders, driving accountability for execution. • Develops and optimizes processes to improve efficiency, ensure alignment with security principles, and close operational gaps. Business Program Planning and Design • Defines and tracks success criteria and performance metrics to enable data-driven decisions and measure program impact. • Drives strategic alignment among cross-functional teams to design and deliver secure, compliant programs that meet business objectives. • Identifies opportunities to develop or improve programs, conducts root-cause analyses, and drives clarity and simplification in complex issues. • Performs program landscape research and forecasting to anticipate trends, assess risks, and inform strategic priorities in areas such as AI, security, efficiency, and quality. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND hands on experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience Strong analytic skills Capacity to delve deep into the technical and administrative details of the cyber security strategy and its deployment and to convert insights into a strategic narrative to drive improvements Leadership and team management skills Capacity to drive forward projects in a highly empowered environment and to escalate when needed Security clearance would be an asset, willingness to engage in a procedure to obtain clearance if it there is no active clearance Preferred Qualifications: Practical experience with the EU cyber security legislations NIS2 and/or DORA would be an advantage Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND extensive years of experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND extensive experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience. Demonstrated experience in the deployment and oversight of cybersecurity frameworks, key metrics and compliance. Experience in engaging with customers and/or regulators.
