About the Role:
As Image Sensor Digital Verification Engineer, you will be responsible for verifying complex digital circuits integrated into the sensor’s digital architecture, ensuring robust functionality, performance, and quality throughout the development cycle.
You will develop and execute verification strategies at both block and top level, including constrained-random and directed test environments. The role involves defining verification plans, coverage metrics, and closure targets, as well as building reusable verification components and infrastructure. You will run simulations and regressions, analyze and debug failures, and work closely with digital design engineers to resolve issues efficiently and improve overall design quality.

Key Responsibilities
Verification & Validation
* Define and implement advanced digital verification methodologies for complex image sensor ASICs.
* Develop block-level and top-level constrained-random and directed test benches.
* Create and execute functional verification plans using industry-standard simulation tools on both RTL and gate-level/netlist designs.
* Define coverage metrics and drive coverage closure activities, including setup, analysis, reporting, enhancement, and signoff.
* Implement and maintain automated regression environments and debug simulation failures efficiently.
* Define verification signoff methodologies and ensure verification completeness against specifications.
* Verify and integrate third-party IP blocks into the digital subsystem.
* Prepare detailed verification documentation, including specifications, verification plans, test protocols, and test reports.
Mixed-Signal Integration
* Work closely with analog and mixed-signal design teams to ensure seamless integration of digital and analog subsystems.
* Support the setup and execution of mixed-mode simulations.
* Contribute to the verification of calibration, correction, and on-chip image processing algorithms.
Collaboration & Innovation
* Drive innovation and contribute to IP development and patents.
* Work in close collaboration with cross-functional R&D teams, including digital design, analog, system, software, and application engineering.
* Participate in the development and continuous improvement of verification methodologies, design flows, and efficiency enhancements.
* Contribute to technology evaluations, supplier assessments, and EDA tool selection.
* Drive innovation through technical contributions, IP development, and patent generation.
* Stay up to date with industry trends, standards, and emerging verification technologies.
* Support customer and post-sales technical activities when required.
Qualifications
Education
* Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or Physics.
Experience
* 6+ years of experience in digital IC/ASIC verification.
* Proven experience verifying complex digital systems in advanced ASIC or FPGA development environments.
* Strong experience in SystemVerilog and UVM verification methodology.
* Solid understanding of hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL) and RTL design flows.
* Experience with assertion-based verification using SVA and/or PSL.
* Proficiency in C++, SystemC, Python, shell scripting, and Linux-based development environments.
* Hands-on experience with simulation and debugging tools such as Cadence Xcelium/IES or Siemens EDA (Mentor Graphics) Questa.
* Strong experience in functional and code coverage methodologies and closure.
* Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
Preferred Skills
* Knowledge of image sensor or vision processing systems.
* Familiarity with industry-standard interfaces and protocols such as I2C, SPI, I3C, MIPI, and LVDS.
* Experience building and maintaining automated regression environments.
* Understanding of task estimation, planning, and development execution in collaborative engineering environments.
* Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Development/Deployment (CD) flows and associated tools.
* Experience in DFT verification, including scan, BIST, and boundary scan validation.
* Experience with formal verification methodologies and tools.
* Experience with gate-level simulations (GLS).
* Exposure to firmware development and firmware verification activities.
* Understanding of mixed-signal verification environments and mixed-mode simulations.
* Experience with FPGA and/or ASIC development flows.
