Job Description
As part of our ambition to accelerate in Belgium, we are looking for a Client Director to take ownership of a portfolio of clients, building excellent client relationships while driving client and business growth and expanding dentsu’s footprint within the Belgian market.
Role Purpose
As Client Director, you are fully accountable for the commercial success, growth, and strategic development of a portfolio of key clients within dentsu Belgium. You act as both a trusted strategic advisor and a commercial leader, responsible for transforming client relationships into long-term value partnerships and driving sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
This role goes beyond traditional client servicing: you are expected to identify, unlock, and convert growth opportunities, leveraging dentsu’s full capabilities across media, data, and technology. As an ambassador for the business, you will connect across internal and external networks to deliver the operating model and build the brand reputation of dentsu.
Key Accountabilities
* Client Leadership – Builds and maintains strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and industry partners; delivers outstanding client service; works with the Commercial Director and Client Management Team to design and execute client service plans; understands client business needs and proactively introduces new opportunities and innovation; delivers a business development plan (KAP) for each client; manages and monitors the quality of work, client satisfaction and profitability; organizes innovation sessions and stimulates creation of client success cases.
* Commercial Management – Responsible for closing commercial contracts and sharing all relevant documents with the client teams; works with the Commercial Director to ensure accurate forecasting and Client P&L management, including Salesforce opportunities; identifies up‑ and cross‑selling opportunities; identifies new business development opportunities and participates in pitches; applies knowledge of dentsu services to influence and contribute to innovative, ambitious and value‑driven solutions; strengthens and expands relationships with local media partners (e.g. Google, Bing, Facebook) and integrates them into the client strategy.
* Team Management – Motivates the team with realistic yet challenging annual development plans; models a culture of ongoing feedback and continuous learning; drives knowledge development and sharing within client teams; fosters a high‑engagement, collaborative and inclusive culture for all talent.

* Digital mindset & capabilities – Strong digital mindset; ability to translate digital trends and innovations into tangible business growth; ability to connect media, data, and technology into integrated solutions; solid understanding of the local digital landscape (NL & BE); knowledge of digital marketing channels and strategies (search, social, programmatic, retail media, e‑commerce, data‑driven marketing); creates future‑proof client solutions.
* Commercial acumen – Strong commercial mindset focused on revenue growth, profitability, and client value creation; influencing and diplomacy skills; ability to translate strategic plans into commercially viable solutions aligned with client objectives; knowledge of dentsu’s capabilities and ability to present compelling commercial propositions.
* Client Relationship Management – Thorough understanding of client drivers; strategic thinking; relationship building; proactive contact opportunities; ability to attain the position of Trusted Advisor.
Key Experience
* 5+ years of working experience in a similar position or a commercial role on the agency or client side.
* Experience working at senior level; managing teams of various sizes and experience levels.
* Experience advising complex (international) clients in a digital context.
* Coaching direct reports; training and presenting (public speaking).
* Client Management, Project Management, Budget / P&L Management.
Language Skills
French, Dutch and English.
