Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site Healthcare Specialist role based in São Luís, MA. The Healthcare Specialist will support patients and members by coordinating care, answering healthcare‑related questions, and assisting with the interpretation of medical information in a clear and accessible way. Responsibilities include conducting basic health screenings within scope, documenting encounters accurately, and helping patients navigate services, benefits, and referrals. The role involves collaborating with medical and administrative teams, supporting training and health education initiatives, and following established protocols to ensure safety, quality, and compliance. The Healthcare Specialist is expected to maintain a patient‑centered approach, respect confidentiality, and contribute to continuous improvement of workflows and service standards.
Qualifications
* Background in healthcare practice, such as Medicine or related clinical fields, with the ability to understand medical terminology and care processes.
* Experience as an EMT or in a similar emergency or pre‑hospital care role, with demonstrated competence in basic patient assessment and intervention within defined scope.
* Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly, actively listen, and interact with patients and teams in a respectful, culturally sensitive manner.
* Experience in training or health education, including supporting the development or delivery of training sessions, workshops, or patient education materials.
* Knowledge of general healthcare systems, care coordination, and patient support workflows.
* Relevant certification or licensure (e.g., EMT, nursing assistant, or comparable credential) in accordance with local regulations is preferred.
* Ability to work on‑site full time in São Luís, MA, with reliable attendance and adherence to shift schedules.
* Proficiency with electronic health records or digital documentation tools, and basic computer literacy.
* Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and compliance with healthcare regulations and internal policies.
