We are seeking an experienced Paid Media Marketing Expert to join the Digital Marketing team of a leading international financial services organization.


The consultant will play a key role in defining, implementing, and optimizing paid media strategies that support brand visibility, customer acquisition, business growth, and digital transformation initiatives. Working within an agile marketing environment, you will collaborate closely with marketing, analytics, IT, media agencies, and external partners to maximize campaign effectiveness and media investment performance.


This is a senior-level role requiring extensive experience in digital marketing, media planning, media buying, stakeholder management, and strategic campaign optimization.

Contract: Freelance

Sector: Financial Services / Digital Marketing

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Hybrid setup: 50% onsite / 50% remote

Daily rate: €600/day excl. VAT


Key Responsibilities

Media Strategy & Campaign Management

* Design, implement, coordinate, and monitor paid media campaigns supporting brand awareness and business objectives.
* Develop media strategies and tactical media plans across multiple channels.
* Define campaign objectives, KPIs, target audiences, and measurement frameworks.
* Ensure campaigns are aligned with broader marketing and business goals.
* Continuously optimize media performance based on data, insights, and market trends.

Agency & Vendor Management

* Challenge and guide media agencies on strategy, execution, performance, and budget allocation.
* Manage relationships with media partners, publishers, and sales houses.
* Negotiate media investments and commercial agreements to maximize return on investment.
* Evaluate agency performance and ensure delivery against agreed objectives.

Performance & Analytics

* Monitor campaign effectiveness and media performance.
* Analyze results and share learnings to improve future campaigns.
* Collaborate with analytics teams to define tracking and measurement requirements.
* Translate business objectives into measurable marketing outcomes.

Budget & Financial Management

* Manage media budgets and spending efficiency.
* Consolidate budgets and support annual media planning exercises.
* Monitor invoicing processes and ensure compliance with commercial agreements.
* Identify opportunities to optimize costs while maintaining performance.

Stakeholder Collaboration

* Partner with marketing, business, IT, analytics, and creative teams.
* Translate marketing objectives into actionable media strategies.
* Provide expert guidance on paid media best practices.
* Ensure smooth collaboration across multiple stakeholders and departments.

Digital Marketing Innovation

* Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and new media opportunities.
* Recommend innovative approaches to improve campaign effectiveness.
* Contribute to digital transformation initiatives and marketing evolution programs.


Candidate Profile

Required Experience

* Minimum 10 years of experience in digital marketing.
* Experience within financial services, banking, or highly regulated industries is preferred.
* Proven expertise in:
* Media planning
* Media buying
* Media negotiations
* Paid media campaign management
* Marketing performance optimization


Technical Skills

Mandatory:

* Strong expertise in digital marketing and paid media.
* Extensive experience with media planning and buying.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Familiarity with agile ways of working.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred:

* Strong experience in digital transformation initiatives.
* Passion for successful project delivery.
* Understanding of banking products, financial services, or regulated environments.
* Knowledge of digital marketing concepts, measurement frameworks, and terminology.

Experience with:

* Social Media Advertising Platforms
* Marketing analytics and reporting tools


Education & Certifications

Education

* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Relevant certifications in platforms such as:

* Google Ads
* CM360
* DV360
* Paid Social Advertising Platforms


Language Requirements

* English: Fluent
* Dutch or French: Fluent
* Ability to work in a multilingual environment is required.
