About the role

The SIS Assistant is responsible for providing operational support and administration of the institution’s Student Information System (SIS). This role assists in maintaining system accuracy, supporting end users, and executing routine processes to ensure the effective functioning of student data and academic operations. The SIS Assistant works closely with cross-functional departments to support system-related tasks, resolve basic issues, and contribute to continuous system improvements.

What you'll do

* Assist in the daily operation, data entry, and maintenance of the Student Information System, ensuring data accuracy and system reliability.
* Provide first-level support to faculty, staff, and students by responding to inquiries, resolving basic system issues, and escalating complex cases when necessary.
* Enter, update, and verify student records, enrollment data, and academic information in compliance with institutional standards.
* Support the execution of established workflows and procedures related to admissions, enrollment, academic tracking, and student services.
* Identify system or process inconsistencies, document issues, and escalate them to the appropriate teams for resolution.
* Assist in testing system updates, configurations, and integrations to ensure proper functionality before deployment.
* Maintain accurate records, user guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to SIS processes.
* Coordinate with academic, administrative, and IT teams to support system-related needs and ensure alignment with operational requirements.
* Provide feedback on system usability and process improvements based on daily operational experience.

Qualifications

Education

* Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

* 1–3 years of experience in system support, data management, or administrative systems.
* Experience working with Student Information Systems (SIS) or similar platforms is preferred.

Language Skills

* Proficiency (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) in English. Portuguese or Spanish preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

General Skills and Knowledge

* Attention to detail and data accuracy
* Problem-solving skills
* Organizational and time management skills
* Effective communication and customer service orientation
* Ability to follow processes and procedures
* Basic understanding of systems and data workflows
* Familiarity with Student Information Systems (SIS) or similar platforms
* Basic knowledge of databases and data handling (e.g., SQL is a plus)
* Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
* Familiarity with ticketing or support systems is a plus
