Position Overview

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Strategic Business Developer to join our team at our headquarters in the Ath region, Belgium. This on-site role is focused on identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities that align with the company's strategic objectives and sales targets, while also managing and growing a portfolio of existing key accounts.

The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder with a strong commercial mindset who prioritizes quality over quantity, focusing on creating long-term value for both customers and the company. This position reports directly to the Head of Sales & Marketing and the CEO and operates within our sales team of five professionals on strategic projects and business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
* Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities that support the company's growth strategy and sales objectives.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers, focusing on long-term partnerships and sustainable growth.
* Manage and further develop existing customer accounts to maximize customer satisfaction, retention, and business potential.
* Develop tailored business proposals and negotiate commercial agreements that create value for all stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the sales team on strategic projects, market development initiatives, and key customer opportunities.
* Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to identify new business opportunities.
* Maintain a high level of customer engagement through regular visits, meetings, and follow-up activities.
* Work closely with internal departments to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
* Provide regular updates and reports on business development activities, opportunities, and account performance.
Qualifications & Experience
* Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
* Minimum of 10 years of proven success in B2B sales, business development, or key account management, preferably within an industrial, med tech, or international business environment.
* Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and close strategic business opportunities while building long-term customer relationships.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience managing complex sales cycles and negotiating commercial agreements.
* Experience in developing business within international B2B markets and managing high-value customer relationships is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-oriented approach and a strong customer focus.
* Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
* Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
* Fluent in English; proficiency in French and/or Dutch is a strong advantage.
* Willingness to travel as required to support customer development and business growth initiatives (max 30%).

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Head of Sales & Marketing and the CEO and collaborates closely with the sales team to achieve company objectives and deliver exceptional customer value.

Location

This is a full-time, on-site position based at our headquarters in the Ath region, Belgium.
