As a Senior Data & AI Governance Consultant within the Lighthouse team, you contribute to multidisciplinary Data & AI transformation programs where governance plays a central role in enabling trust, scalability and value creation across the organisation. You support organisations in designing and implementing end-to-end Data & AI governance capabilities, ensuring that data and AI systems are reliable, explainable, compliant and aligned with business objectives.
This role sits at the intersection of regulation, Data & AI and business value. Your focus is on building robust and future-proof governance frameworks that support both compliance and scalable innovation. You will help organisations design, operationalise and scale Data & AI operating models, translate regulatory requirements into actionable governance capabilities, and embed governance into everyday decision-making.
This role is suited for an experienced consultant with strong expertise in Data & AI governance and the ability to engage senior stakeholders while driving tangible delivery outcomes.
What will you do
1. Design Data & AI governance strategies
* Advise clients on governance frameworks, operating models and capabilities
* Define structures, roles, policies and processes across the data and AI lifecycle
* Translate regulatory and business requirements into pragmatic governance designs
* Assess data maturity and define actionable roadmaps
2. Enable scalable and automated governance
* Support the transition from manual to scalable and automated governance models
* Embed governance-by-design in data pipelines, AI lifecycles and business processes
* Design monitoring, reporting and auditing capabilities
* Promote data-as-an-asset and data product thinking
3. Drive governance implementation & architecture oversight
* Lead tooling selection and implementation (e.g. Collibra, Purview, Informatica)
* Ensure alignment with data quality, lineage, ownership and security requirements
* Define and implement standards such as metadata, CDEs and data quality frameworks
* Bridge Data & AI, IT, Risk and Business stakeholders
* Align Data & AI governance with broader enterprise governance
4. Support executive decision-making
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders (e.g. CDO, CIO, CRO, AI leads)
* Translate complex topics into clear risks, scenarios and recommendations
* Support organisations in navigating regulatory challenges and AI adoption
5. Contribute to growth & innovation
* Support proposals and define governance value cases
* Position governance as a key enabler of Data & AI transformation
* Contribute to Lighthouse’s governance offering across industries
* Develop reusable assets such as playbooks, accelerators and standards
* Drive innovation in areas such as AI governance and data product governance
6. Strengthen collaboration and capabilities
* Coach teams on governance practices, tools and delivery approaches
* Facilitate collaboration between Data, AI, Risk, IT and Business teams
* Contribute to building a strong governance community within Lighthouse
What you bring
* 4–6 years of experience in Data & AI governance (consulting experience is a plus)
* Experience in regulatory-driven environments (e.g. BCBS 239, Solvency II, GDPR, EU AI Act, CSRD)
* Knowledge of governance frameworks (e.g. DAMA DMBoK, DCAM is a plus)
* Hands-on experience with governance tooling (Collibra, Purview, Informatica, DataHub or similar)
* Experience with data quality and metadata tooling (e.g. Collibra DQ, Soda, Great Expectations)
* Experience with automation and integration (Python, SQL, APIs)
* Experience operationalising governance (lineage, metadata ingestion, quality monitoring, workflows)
* Exposure to regulated industries (e.g. Financial Services) is an asset
* Experience contributing to proposals or commercial discussions
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Fluency in English and either Dutch or French
