The Amazon Aviation Security (AvSec) team is seeking an enthusiastic, customer‑obsessed AvSec Security Specialist to provide support and oversight for x‑ray screening operations in Brazil. This is a new initiative for the transportation supply chain to secure the supply chain for air cargo on passenger aircraft.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Support the Regional AvSec Manager and ensure compliance with corporate policies, federal regulations, and standardized processes.
* Manage ambiguity through knowledge, experience, and resource allocation to meet daily goals.
* Manage processes, vendor x‑ray screening operators, and secure the supply chain for external fulfillment to air.
* Assist with developing the workforce to meet long‑term process targets and directly support a team of 3rd‑party vendors.
* Verify compliance with security procedures and regulatory standards, physical security design standards and policies, and utilize Security Management System (SeMS) processes for risk mitigation.
* Develop new and evaluate existing security standards by establishing workflows, SLAs, and operational excellence mechanisms, ensuring customer outcomes are data‑driven, measured, and validated.
* Introduce best practices and maintain a strong bias for action as the business operations evolve.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
* Experience interacting with local food safety regulators.
* Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent.
* Business English skills, both verbal and written.
* Speak, write, and read fluently in Portuguese.
Preferred Qualifications
* Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials.
* Experience with SQL and Excel.
* Experience in Food Safety Law.
* Knowledge of retail food code and regulations governing grocery retail at local, state, and federal levels.
* Experience defining and executing program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.
