As a Senior Consultant – Procurement, you support public and semi-public organisations in executing compliant, efficient, and well-structured purchasing processes. You bring solid experience in public procurement legislation and translate it into operational excellence across tendering, contract management, and supplier relations.
You operate as a hands-on procurement specialist with a solid understanding of the regulatory framework. You execute tendering procedures independently, ensure file quality and compliance, and actively collaborate with legal, policy, and operational teams within public sector organisations.
What will you do?
* You support public organisations in the execution of their purchasing and sourcing strategy within the framework of public procurement legislation.
* You execute European and national tendering procedures, including market consultations, tender documents, award criteria, evaluation reports, and motivation notes.
* You monitor the legal conformity, transparency, and proportionality of procurement files.
* You provide advice on governance, internal control, compliance, and audit-readiness of purchasing processes.
* You analyse existing processes and organisational structures within public institutions and contribute to structural process improvements.
* You support clients on professionalisation tracks such as centralisation of purchasing, category management, contract management, or digitalisation of procurement.
* You collaborate with internal stakeholders, legal teams, and policy officers to ensure procurement files are accurate, complete, and defensible.
* You participate in and facilitate workshops with internal stakeholders, legal departments, and policy officers.
* You translate policy objectives into concrete purchasing strategies and actionable procurement plans.
* You identify market opportunities and contribute to proposal preparation and market positioning within the public sector.
* You represent AION Consulting with public clients and build lasting relationships with administrations, intermunicipal organisations, and public institutions.
Profile
* At least 2 to 4 years of experience in purchasing within the public sector or in procurement consulting, with demonstrable hands-on experience executing procurement procedures independently.
* Solid knowledge of Belgian and European public procurement legislation and experience independently managing procurement procedures.
* Experience within or for government authorities, intermunicipal organisations, utilities, or other public institutions.
* You combine analytical rigour with pragmatism and can structure complex procurement files with clarity.
* Excellent command of Dutch and/or French, being fluent in the other national language is a strong asset.
* Experience with digitalisation of purchasing processes, e-procurement platforms, or transformation projects within the public sector is a plus.
Compensation
* Gross monthly salary: €3,000 – €4,000, depending on experience and impact.
