Mission
As Key Account Manager Top 3, you will manage some of the company’s most strategic retail partnerships in Belgium. You will be the key link between the organization and major retailers, turning customer insights, market data and business opportunities into strong commercial plans.
Your mission is to build long-term partnerships, negotiate impactful agreements and drive sustainable growth for products that consumers already know, trust and love.
This is not just a classic account management role. It is an opportunity to take ownership of major accounts, influence commercial strategy, work close to decision-making, and make a concrete impact on the future growth of a strong FMCG brand in Belgium.
Key Responsibities
Strategic Account Management & Customer Development
• Manage several strategic key accounts within the Belgian retail market.
• Build strong, long-term partnerships with key customers and act as a trusted business partner.
• Understand customer strategies, priorities and needs, and translate them into clear commercial action plans.
• Identify new business opportunities to grow collaboration, increase sales and improve profitability.
Negotiation & Commercial Strategy
• Prepare and negotiate annual agreements with your customers.
• Conclude yearly contracts, including trade terms, commercial conditions, promotional investments and key business agreements.
• Approach negotiations in a structured, analytical and professional way.
• Balance customer expectations with the company’s business objectives to create sustainable growth.
Account Planning & Performance Management
• Develop annual account plans based on turnover, trade margin, profitability, market trends, customer requirements and business opportunities.
• Translate data and insights into concrete actions and priorities.
• Monitor account performance and take corrective actions when needed.
• Follow sales and profitability evolution to ensure business objectives are achieved.
Promotion, Visibility & Category Collaboration
• Develop and follow up promotional plans for your customers.
• Ensure strong product presence and visibility in-store.
• Evaluate promotional activities and optimize future actions based on performance.
• Work closely with Category Management to improve shelf visibility, product positioning, assortment, rotation and overall category performance.
Market Follow-Up & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Stay close to market developments, competitor activity, consumer trends and in-store
execution.
• Anticipate changes and adapt your commercial approach accordingly.
• Collaborate closely with Field Sales to ensure that negotiated plans are translated into concrete results on the shop floor.
• Work together with internal teams to align strategy, execution and business impact
Candidate Profile
Education
• Master’s degree or equivalent.
Languages
• Fluent French, Dutch and English.
Experience
• Experience as a Key Account Manager, preferably but not necessarily with in FMCG food.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle complex commercial discussions.
• Proven ability to manage strategic customers and build long-term partnerships.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into commercial actions.
• Experience in account planning, promotional planning and performance follow-up.
• Good understanding of retail dynamics, customer needs and commercial execution.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
