Buller High School is seeking a dynamic and experienced educator to join our team as head of department for health and physical education on a 12-month fixed-term basis, covering maternity leave from Term 3, 2026 to Term 2, 2027.
About the role
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a passionate health and PE teacher to lead a dedicated department. You will be responsible for curriculum delivery, staff leadership, student achievement, and contributing to the wider school community. Management Units are available for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will have:
* A current practising certificate with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand
* Experience teaching Health and Physical Education at secondary level
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and support colleagues
* A commitment to raising student achievement and wellbeing
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
