About the Role
We are looking for Automation Engineers passionate about life sciences to join our teams in Belgium and support leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies. You will contribute directly to projects that improve patients’ lives, working on state-of-the-art production and laboratory systems in a highly regulated environment.
As an Amaris consultant, you will be part of an international, multidisciplinary community of experts, while enjoying the stability of a permanent contract and the variety of missions offered by consulting.
Your Responsibilities
Depending on your experience and the project, you may be involved in:
* Design & implementation
o Design, configure and program automation systems (PLC/SCADA/DCS, MES, etc.) for pharmaceutical production lines and utilities
o Participate in the definition of functional specifications (URS, FS, DS) and technical documentation
o Support integration of new equipment and systems into existing architectures
* Validation & compliance
o Ensure compliance with GMP, GAMP 5, and 21 CFR Part 11
o Prepare and execute test protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), manage deviations and change controls
o Contribute to Computer System Validation (CSV) activities and data integrity assessments
* Operations & continuous improvement
o Provide support to production and maintenance teams for troubleshooting and root cause analysis
o Optimize process performance, reliability, and availability of automated systems
o Participate in continuous improvement and digitalization initiatives (Industry 4.0, data, connectivity, etc.)
Your Profile
* Degree in Automation, Industrial Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science or similar
* 2+ years of experience in automation in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or highly regulated industrial environment
* Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
o PLC/SCADA/DCS (e.g. Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Emerson, ABB, Honeywell…)
o MES / batch systems (e.g. Werum PAS-X, Emerson Syncade, Siemens Opcenter…)
o CSV / GAMP 5 / 21 CFR Part 11
* Good understanding of GMP and validation constraints
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic and hands-on mindset
* Fluent in English; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a strong asset
* Team player, curious, and motivated to work in a consulting environment with changing projects and contexts
