STAGE OUTLINE AND FUNCTION: The Motion Picture Association (MPA) EMEA communications department is offering a full-time, six-month paid internship at its Brussels office. The selected candidate will support the MPA’s content protection communications activities, with a particular focus on anti-piracy initiatives and strategic communications related to the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), the world’s leading antipiracy coalition. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in global anti-piracy communications and the protection of creative content within the entertainment industry.


The intern will work under a dual reporting structure, supporting both the Vice President of Communications for EMEA, based in Brussels, and the Vice President of Global Communications for Content Protection, based in Los Angeles.


Teamwork & Collaboration: Work closely with MPA communications and content protection colleagues across Europe, the United States, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, to support global anti-piracy and content protection initiatives. Participate actively in internal coordination meetings related to ACE and broader content protection efforts. Maintain continuity across international teams by tracking developments, documenting actions, sharing updates, and highlighting emerging issues to support the organization’s global communications and enforcement objectives.


SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES AND SKILLS: The successful candidate will support the Vice President of Communications for EMEA and the Vice President of Global Communications for Content Protection in the execution of strategic communications initiatives related to global content protection and anti-piracy efforts.

* Collaborate with global ACE teams, as well as communications colleagues across multiple regions, to gather relevant information and develop content that promotes and publicizes both the MPA’s and ACE’s content protection work.
* Assist in drafting press releases, newsletter content and other communications materials for ACE and broader content protection initiatives.
* Support the management of the press release pipeline and assist in tracking communications performance and engagement metrics using tools such as Google Analytics.
* Assist in the production and distribution of the ACE newsletter, including gathering and drafting content, coordinating internal approvals, supporting layout and distribution, and maintaining distribution lists.
* Work closely with external social media agencies and internal stakeholders to coordinate content approvals and support the drafting of social media copy related to ACE and content protection activities.
* Help maintain the ACE global events calendar by tracking speaking engagements and coordinating communications support for conferences, events, and industry panels.
* Collaborate with MPA Digital Communications colleagues to help maintain brand consistency and editorial standards across ACE, TPN, and content protection communications channels, including websites and social media platforms.
* Assist in reviewing and editing PowerPoint presentations and other internal and external communications materials.

REQUIREMENTS

* Fluent command of spoken and written English; additional EU languages are an asset.
* Academic background in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, International Affairs, or related disciplines.
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with strong writing and editorial abilities.
* Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital communications, and current social media best practices.
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work.
* Proactive, solutions-oriented self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
* Comfortable working collaboratively with remote international teams across multiple time zones.
* Interest in intellectual property, content protection, cybersecurity, digital policy, or the audiovisual and entertainment sectors; prior experience in these areas is considered a plus.
* Experience with social media content creation and visual asset development (including social cards, GIFs, infographics, or similar materials) is desirable.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly PowerPoint), WordPress, Google Analytics, Canva, media monitoring platforms, and other communications tools is highly desirable.
* Flexibility to occasionally accommodate meetings and collaboration across US, Asia-Pacific, and EMEA time zones.
