Job Overview
Location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
This role seeks a highly motivated S&E Operations Advisor to support offshore operations, marine and logistics supply chain. The successful candidate will strengthen safety and environment performance, drive safety culture, and ensure effective implementation of environmental licensing commitments.
Responsibilities
* Act as the primary HSE focal point for an offshore asset, providing day‑to‑day support and ensuring alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure adherence to Brazilian regulatory frameworks (IBAMA, ANP, NR standards) and support tracking of post‑license environmental and social commitments.
* Identify and manage operational risks using barrier management and critical control verification; reinforce safe execution of Permit to Work, SIMOPS, and Management of Change (MoC).
* Lead or contribute to incident investigations using structured methodologies (Causal Learning, Human Factors principles) and translate insights into actionable improvements.
* Maintain and analyze HSE data to identify trends and provide insight‑driven recommendations to improve operational performance.
* Work closely with offshore contractors and logistics providers to ensure alignment with HSE expectations and drive consistent performance across the value chain.
* Support Human Factors and Psychological Safety initiatives, fostering an open reporting culture and continuous learning.
* Act as key link between offshore teams, onshore functions, HSE leadership, and regulatory stakeholders, supporting audits, inspections, and governance processes.
Qualifications
* Legal authorization to work in Brazil on a full‑time basis.
* Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Safety, or related discipline.
* 5+ years in offshore oil & gas operations (FPSO experience is a plus).
* Strong knowledge of Brazilian HSE regulatory environment (IBAMA, ANP, NR standards).
* Experience in incident investigation and risk management methodologies.
* Proven ability to influence, engage, and work effectively with multidisciplinary and contractor teams.
* Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
* Familiarity with Human Factors, safety culture, and learning organization concepts is an advantage.
* Fluent in Portuguese and English.
